Tanla's Premium SMS billing mechanism enables content owners to charge for digital content such as news alerts, financial information and video clips, enabling immediate revenue generation. Premium SMS works on all mobile phones and allows content owners to reach millions of consumers.

Premium SMS is effective on special offers and promotions and acts as an immediate call to action. In the UK, Tanla offers WAP billing through 'Payforit', a cross-network operator initiative. Payforit provides consumers with a uniform purchase experience across all sites, replicating the Internet 'click and buy' experience. It displays clear pricing, terms and conditions, and merchant contact details before a purchase confirmation. Payments are no longer handled by individual content owners, but by carefully selected 'Accredited Payment Intermediaries' such as Tanla.

Payforit is required on all mobile Internet purchases made by Vodafone, O2 and 3 customers, and it is anticipated that soon all networks will mandate Payforit for all mobile Internet purchases.
