As Chief Executive Officer, Vikash Barath is tasked with the responsibility of Tanla’s South African market entry and growth. He is also driving the emerging market expansion strategy into Africa.

With over 15 years experience in the mobile telecommunications industry, Vikash has extensive knowledge in mobile value added services, voice and messaging. Prior to joining Tanla, he was employed by MTN, where he held significant management roles in the technical, marketing and sales areas. As the Senior Manager of the Wireless Application Service Provider (WASP) department at MTN, Vikash was responsible for the mobile operator’s WASP strategy, execution and operations.

Vikash’s ability to combine his technical abilities with strong business acumen allows him to engage at all levels of the business in a focused and priority driven manner. This empowers him to take clear and economically sound decisions in a fast moving competitive environment.

Vikash holds an MBA in International Business Management and an engineering diploma
