Software Quality Engineer

As a Software Quality Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through advanced testing strategies, automation, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and DevOps to define quality standards, identify risks, and implement robust testing frameworks. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test plans, developing automated test suites, and driving quality initiatives across the software development lifecycle. Your expertise will help shape scalable and maintainable quality practices and contribute to the evolution of our engineering culture. You’ll be expected to bring a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, along with a proactive mindset to identify and resolve quality issues early in the development process.

• Designing and executing manual test cases to validate functional and non-functional requirements across web and backend systems.
• Performing API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar to ensure robust and secure service integrations.
• Conducting FTP-based validations, including file transfers, format checks, and data integrity across environments.
• Leading regression testing efforts to ensure new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
• Developing and maintaining automated test scripts to improve test coverage and reduce manual effort.
• Performing database testing to validate data consistency, integrity, and correctness using SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Collaborating with developers and product managers to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs and issues using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Participating in release planning and quality gates, ensuring readiness for production deployment.
• Mentoring junior QA engineers and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and standards.

• Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes  
• Cloud exposure
• Jira exposure  
• Telecom Experience (CPaaS - SMS, WhatsApp, Voice, TC, RCS)
• Git & CI/CD Basics

• 4 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance, including designing test cases, executing them, and preparing detailed status reports.
• Hands on exposure in QC (Test Case Design, Test case Execution, Test Automation and Status Reports to stakeholders)
• Performance Testing
• Min of 2 yrs. experience in API testing & API automation testing
• Comfortable to code in Python, Robot framework & Pytest
• Exposure to any one IDE (VS Code, PyCharm)
• Database Testing (SQL) experience, min 2 years
• Basics of Unix and basic commands
