Instead, you can send messages that include pictures, videos, and interactive buttons that let people respond or act right from the message. RCS works through your phone’s regular messaging app, just like SMS. But instead of sending only plain text, RCS allows you to include much more in your messages. With SMS, you can send 160 characters of text and maybe an image.
